About Us

PeopleTrans are helping develop Sydney’s largest public transport projects including Sydney Metro and B-Line. We have recently won another high-profile project and are looking to grow our team. We are looking for a talented transport designer to help deliver projects across Sydney.
This is a unique opportunity to join a strongly growing business reporting directly to senior staff which will provide an excellent opportunity for learning and influencing project outcomes.

For this role, you will be someone who is an excellent communicator and passionate about the work that you do and how it can influence Sydney and its people.
You will have an excellent understanding of Australian and RMS design standards and be able to complete concept road and intersection designs, car park design and construction traffic management plans.

About You

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing technical design advice including drafting / preparing CAD drawings using either AutoCAD and / or MicroStation
  • Seeking approval for drawings from road authorities and the client
  • Attending client and Council / RMS meetings
  • Assessing and designing road, intersection and parking layouts, including space, aisle and grade compliance
  • Preparing draft reports and other correspondence

Education:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Civil Drafting / Civil Engineering course or Advanced Certificate / Associate Diploma
  • 2 years’ experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD (to intermediate level) preferred
  • Excellent experience in using AutoTURN to support complex car park designs
  • NSW Prepare Work zone Traffic Management Plan Certificate desirable

Experience:

  • A mixture of Consultancy and Government experience is desirable
  • Ideally 3 - 8 years’ experience (with a minimum of 2 years’ NSW experience preferable)
  • An understanding of CTMP approval process with RMS / Councils
  • Preparation or knowledge of Traffic Control Plans to RMS standards
  • Experience with Design and Construction Projects
  • Preparation of swept path assessment using either Autoturn
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with experience in the preparation and provision of traffic design advice and reports. 

We are a privately-owned traffic and transport consultancy centrally located within the Sydney CBD close to public transport and are looking to interview for one position to start as soon as possible.
