PeopleTrans regularly works in partnership with Developers, Architects, Town Planners & Government to help deliver land use projects of all shapes and sizes whether that be residential, commercial or retail. Our advice is based on a clear understanding of the relevant planning systems and the traffic engineering technical standards as they relate to land use and transport. Our traffic reports reflect a real understanding of the project and location and do not apply the “cookie cutter” approach sometimes employed by others in the industry.
We understand that every site is unique, presenting its own set of challenges and opportunities, often with strict delivery timeframes and realise that sometimes there is a need to look beyond what the standards say In developing solutions. We are specialists in this field with strong traffic engineering capabilities, are well respected and have a reputation for delivering real outcomes on both simple and complex projects.
The field of traffic engineering is constantly evolving as the expectations of the community change and as new technology is developed. Over time the density of our cities have increased and the fixed road resources have become more valuable. While historically, traffic engineering was about simply checking that an intersection could achieve the required flow of vehicles, today, traffic engineers must ensure all vehicles work together to maximise the available resources for all road users and the people within those vehicles. Bicycles, motorcycles, vans, trucks, taxis, buses and trams all have to share the road and there are often competing demands for road space.
PeopleTrans understand the important role buses and trams have to play in delivering the overall transport task. Our staff are regular commuters so understand from a user perspective the importance of comfort and reliability when it comes to bus travel.
We have completed a number of complex bus priority planning projects both in Australia and the United Kingdom, focussed primarily on the development of infrastructure improvements to reduce travel times. We also have specialist knowledge of bus network planning, reviews and bus operations and have applied detailed traffic engineering analysis on many bus projects. We have also been involved in future light rail network planning design development.
Walking & cycling are modes which are becoming increasingly important in reducing the reliance on private car use and probably more so in contributing to a healthier community.
Whether you require high level planning on an area wide scale, planning and design of a particular route or simple advice related to a development, PeopleTrans can help you. We have experience in this field from both the United Kingdom and Australia.
PeopleTrans are always looking to be challenged on projects that are sometimes out of left field. These projects often require thinking outside of the square relying on the latest technology to deliver the answers.
We are also interested in seeing the traffic engineering and transport planning industry progress, so undertaking transport related research projects which assist other practitioners and the industry as a whole is one of PeopleTrans' core values.
Our planning team see the importance in exploring outside our isolated Australian shores to assess first-hand what is happening in the world when it comes to innovation in traffic engineering and transport planning.
Our people have worked in Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia and we seek what works best around the world and, where relevant, apply it to our projects. In 2015/2016 our staff spent time exploring key cities across the globe including Hong Kong, New York and Barcelona to discover transport planning strategies and examples of quality engineering to apply to our projects.
